NEW DELHI: Two days after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge launched the party’s crowdfunding campaign, the Congress party has renamed its crowdfunding campaign to Donate for South from Donate for Desh.
Reportedly, the decision was taken after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked about the bifurcation of the donation received and was told that it was just one donation that too from South. Another reason being cited for change in donation campaign name is that the Congress forgot to book the domain for Donate For Desh and was bought by the BJP.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has now ordered caste census for the donation received to identify which caste is donating more.
While another Congress leader said that this donation is an answer to Modi’s vindictive policies of conducting IT raids at Congress MP and seizing their cash.
Speaking to The Bajngan, a senior congress leader said “If only south is making us win then the party is of the people of south, for the people of south and by the people of south”.
